Sutton 40KTC Pipe Straightener Modernization
SMS group USA is excited to announce another Sutton 40KTC Pipe Straightener modernization project installed at Vallourec Star, Youngstown, OH. The primary upgrades include the modernization of two exit end pivoting arms featuring new wear items to increase equipment’s performance and durability, a new counterbalance cylinder, new anti-backlash devices, and a new auto angling system. A complete pivot arm adjusting screw assembly rounds out the first phase of this upgrade. The installation is scheduled for the end of September 2024. Looking ahead, Vallourec Star has confirmed an approved budget for the 2025 modernization of the machine’s entry side, including implementing a new load cell system for precise bending force measurement.
