TOOLING DAYS 2019
An industry is facing up to the challenges of the future
From 23 until 24 May 2019, Kapfenberg will host the fourth edition of the TOOLING DAYS, the industry event organised by the leading businesses in the metal-processing industry.
The industrial region of Eastern Upper Styria has made an international name for itself as a hub of materials technology. Materials and their applications are the industrial motor that drives the region around the towns of Kapfenberg and Leoben.
Against this background, the TOOLING DAYS were initiated in 2012, a high-calibre expert conference intended to foster the exchange of experiences and impulses within a highly dynamic industry. Conceived by the regional economic and development agency AREA m styria GmbH, the biannual event is a platform for highlighting future aspects of productivity, efficiency and the development of new technologies in tooling.
The fourth edition of the event, "TOOLING DAYS 2019", will take place from Thursday, 23 May, until Friday, 24 May 2019, at the FH Joanneum in Kapfenberg. The 2-day event will provide insights into a wide range of experiences, strategies and possible applications in tooling and metal processing.
Main topics for 2019The TOOLING DAYS constitute a unique opportunity to learn more about the latest industry developments through high-calibre, expert presentations. TOOLING DAYS agendas always reflect current industry trends, and this year is no exception: the rapid progress made in e-mobility, and its effect on the automotive industry and its suppliers, is a focal point of the upcoming event. Other important challenges include additive manufacturing and the much-discussed 3-D printing, and their advantages and disadvantages compared to traditional machining methods. Another focus lies on the stress field between analogous and digital solutions in the industry in general, and in metal processing in particular.
Approximately 200 decision makers are expected on both conference days, making for a fertile symbiosis between research, development and industry. The conference has also met with great interest among students at the FH Joanneum and the HTL Kapfenberg, the experts and specialists of the future. The reception in the evening is a great opportunity to mingle in a relaxed atmosphere and encourages the focused exchange of experiences with the most important players in the field.
