Banyard LFi Seminar
Just before Christmas, Inductotherm Group colleagues from Europe, Russia, USA, Taiwan, Japan and China, India and Korea, joined a Technology masterclass at Inductotherm Heating & Welding Ltd in Basingstoke, England.
Home of the Banyard brand and globally respected for its products in Non Ferrous and Steel Induction solutions for Extrusion, the name is recognised immediately in the industries we serve. As Banyard approaches 50 years in these market sectors, the event took place to bring together the Engineering strength of the Inductotherm Group, accompanied by the Sales & Marketing teams, to focus on the markets development with a single product - the LFi
Sales Director of Inductotherm Heating & Welding Ltd and Brand Manager for the Banyard products, Wayne Hine, explains “Our mission is to design, build and develop Induction Technologies for the Non Ferrous and Ferrous extrusion markets. We manufacture market-leading technology for the Group and define process parameters that meet and exceed those of our customers’ specification and the industries we serve. The Seminar is the gateway in a planned process to promote technology to our local partners within the group - Our Goal up to 2019 is to maintain a position as a leader in the Aluminium and Steel extrusion markets and to have our group companies manufacturing to compete locally.
We have a dedicated centre of excellence in the UK that supports our Banyard global reach in Engineering, process calculation, layout design, sales and after sales. This continued development and successful relationship in this sector continues to provide confidence to the markets locally.
Over two days of intensive presentations, lectures and group analysis Power, Frequency, Efficiency, Competitiveness and the Competition. Our group colleagues were given the opportunity to gain insight into the design criteria, topology, characteristics and benefits as well as the features of the Power supply and its many application uses. These specifically target essential customer requirements and debunk traditional competitive assertions.
Multiple Zone Heating, IGBT technology, Taper Gradient, Phase locking, Inverter power
Control, Digital Connectivity, Communication, Diagnostic
Temperature Control, Pyrometer, Thermocouples
Multi Turn and Multi-Layer Coil design benefits
Digital Connectivity and its operation in Maintenance and planned service
With 2016 installations in India and Korea, we shared the experiences of the projects, proving the equipment, responding to queries and providing results that have provided a repeat order, through the community of Inductotherm Group companies.
Day one of two focused on sharing Banyard technology and the understanding of the Customers industry requirements, specifications and general needs of the Extrusion Process were explained, recently Banyard Sales and Engineering staff undertook an Extrusion Technology training course and Jacob Friend Technical Support Manager, provided a detailed overview of the lesson learnt and where working closer with the integrators of Press manufacturers can present the best efficient, cost competitive solution, whist hitting all customer’s needs.
On Day two, access was provided to the Inductotherm Heating & Welding Test bay to view, control and present an LFi 750kw Unit with dedicated heating exercises, this application based on a 6” Aluminium Billet Heater is available to view until the end of February, as an illustration of the available power, coil and control to Extruders.
