NEW DATES FOR WIRE AND TUBE SOUTHEAST ASIA: OCTOBER 2022

New dates for the 14th and 13th editions of wire and Tube Southeast Asia have been announced: the two trade fairs will move to the later part of 2022 and will be held from October 5 – 7,  2022 at BITEC in Bangkok, Thailand.  Originally scheduled for February 2022 the events were rescheduled due to the on-going ban of large scale events in Bangkok. In addition, varying quarantine requirements for international travelers also pose an added challenge for participants.

With over twenty years of success, wire and Tube Southeast Asia are renowned for their international reach. At their last editions in 2019, over 96% of the exhibiting companies were from outside of Thailand, while about 45% of the visitors came from overseas.

wire and Tube Southeast Asia 2022 will be held alongside the premiere staging of GIFA and METEC Southeast Asia which were also planned for February 2022. As countries look to get their economies back on track and invest in new growth areas, the synergies between the four trade fairs will continue to drive growth across a range of industry sectors in Southeast Asia, from building and construction to iron and steel production as well as logistics and transportation.

Gernot Ringling, Managing Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, stated: “The decision to push the trade fairs to the later part of next year was made with careful consideration and in close consultation with relevant industry and regional partners. As wire and Tube Southeast Asia both have a very high percentage of international participation, we believe that this move would provide adequate opportunity for more comfortable planning for all parties involved. We expect the move to have a two-pronged benefit – that countries would be better equipped for international travel and getting together as we navigate the transition to the endemic stage of COVID-19, and consequently, that the demand for face-to-face meetings can eventually be realized in a safe, controlled environment.”

Beattrice Ho, Project Director, Messe Düsseldorf Asia, added: “We remain committed to meet the business needs of all participants and will stay steadfast in nurturing these trusted relationships for an even more successful participation as more favorable travel conditions are expected later in the year, together with greater market confidence. Our ability to deliver an event that optimizes participant investment in time and resources is a priority, and after considering all aspects we felt moving the trade fairs to October 2022 would be the best decision.”
