Interpipe introduces new range of special Thin-Walled Pipes
To provide more advantages for customers, the global steel pipe producer Interpipe expanded its product range and mastered pipes with wall thickness of 4 and 4.5 mm for dimensions 139.7x4 mm and 168.3x4.5 mm.
Despite high demand in the EU and the CIS countries, this range of products is quite rare for seamless pipes. Interpipe thin-walled pipes are produced in accordance with the requirements of international standards EN 10210, EN 10216, EN 10297 and their combinations.
To achieve the required accuracy and compliance with the reduction ratio, Interpipe engineers have adjusted the calibration of the piercing mill rollers and lengthwise rolling mills, enhanced the rolling support system and maintained strict temperature modes, preventing the pipes from over-cooling and resulting ruptures.
“Pipes for general application of 139.7x4 mm and 168.3x4.5 mm are used in pipelines, gas distribution, fire-fighting systems and civil construction. Due to the thin wall, they are lighter than the usual ones with the same length, thus being more economically efficient for customers. During 2016 we have supplied about 5.5 thousand tons of thin-walled pipes to major European distributors”, noted Ivan Mazanka, Pipe Sales Director on European Market.
