SMS group GmbH
Applying its decades of experience, SMS worked with the customer to develop an ideal solution tailored to his needs. With the cantilever system (load-carrying beam supported at one end) that is now being implemented, all products can be sup- plied damage-free for the next stage in the process.
LOTTE is relying on SMS’s digitalization expertise and rounding off its portfolio with the warehouse management software. This software, specially developed over decades, is a core component of the high-bay storage systems and is subject to continual optimization to ensure end-to-end material tracking and user-friendly visualization.
The system is scheduled to go into service at the end of 2024.

SMS group and Tata Steel sign MoU to decarbonize integrated steel plants
 22
Tata Steel, one of the world’s leading steel producers, has signed a memorandum of understanding with SMS group to reduce carbon emissions at Tata’s integrated steel plants across India. SMS group will contribute its leading technological expertise in design- ing, supplying and commissioning plants with significantly lower CO2 emissions.
Burkhard Dahmen, CEO and Chairman of SMS group, said: “Our companies have a common goal to reduce carbon emis-
sions from iron and steel production, as the industry is not only key to economic prosperity, it is also one of the largest CO2 emitters. We are therefore very proud to team up with Tata Steel and are committed to supporting the company with its decar- bonization roadmap. This represents an important contribution in the fight against climate change and is beneficial for the Indian economy as a whole and especially for the communities located around the steel plants.”
