World Steel Tube Production – Review
In the first half of 2022, 75 million tonnes of steel pipes were produced. Compared to the first half of 2021, this represents an increase of 0.2 % - i.e. only a slight change. The production of seamless tubes fell worldwide by 2.3 % to 20.3 million tonnes, with the increase in the USA standing out particularly clearly at 39.8 %.
Europe also recorded a positive result in the seamless pipe market with an increase of 13.3 % and an increase of 8.2 % in total production. Chinese steel pipe producers produced 41.7 million tonnes, compare with H1 2021 a drop of 5.9%, while pro- duction in the US rose 23.5% to 6.2 million tonnes. In addition to Europe, USA, Japan also recorded a growth of 7.8%, compared to the 1st half of 2021.
